Managing Director and CEO

Sahil Vachani is the Managing Director and CEO of Max Ventures and Industries Limited (MaxVIL), and was recently appointed as a Director on the Boards of Max Financial Services Limited and its subsidiary Max Life Insurance. He joined the Boards of these companies as a representative of the Owner Sponsor Group led by Mr. Analjit Singh.

Sahil joined the Max Group in 2016 with a focus on creating a powerful Real Estate brand – Max Estates Limited, and steering MaxVIL’s other businesses towards growth. He has diverse expertise across various sectors including consumer durables and real estate.

Since assuming his role at MaxVIL, he has successfully completed two key transactions which will have an enduring impact on the Company’s growth journey over the next few years. The first is the sale of a 22.5% stake in MaxVIL to a subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company in January 2017; and second, the induction of Toppan Printing Co. Ltd, Japan (Toppan) as a joint venture partner with a 49% stake in MaxVIL’s legacy manufacturing business – Max Speciality Films (MSF).

Besides MSF, he is currently overseeing two new business verticals under MaxVIL – Max Estates and Max I. Limited. Max Estates focuses on Grade-A commercial spaces. Its flagship project Max Towers, a prime commercial tower of ~0.6 million sq. ft. located on the Delhi-Noida Direct flyway, will be ready by Oct 2018 and work on the second project, the redevelopment of Max House in Okhla, New Delhi is set to commence in FY2019. The other vertical, Max I., facilitates intellectual & financial Capital to promising and proven early-stage organizations across identified sunrise sectors. So far, it has made investments in Azure Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., which owns and operates successful F&B brands such as Mamagoto and Dhaba, and FSN E-Commerce Ventures Pvt. Ltd, which owns and operates the leading online beauty destination

Sahil started his career as a banker with Citigroup in London, where he worked on Mergers and Acquisitions across the Middle East and Africa region. In 2004, he joined Dixon Technologies, a consumer appliance manufacturing firm as Business Head and setup new verticals across multiple locations and was involved in the launch of new products, setting up of new manufacturing facilities and establishing relationships with leading brands as customers.

In 2008, he transitioned to a new role as Co-founder and Managing Director of Dixon Appliances Pvt. Ltd., where he led the business from its inception on multiple fronts, including designing of products, building the team, setting up the manufacturing facility, operations and building relationships with leading brands in India such as Panasonic, Godrej, LG, among others. The Company emerged as the single-largest third party contract manufacturer of Washing Machines for the Indian market. In July 2015, Sahil sold his shareholding in the company to devote complete attention to his role in the Max Group.

Mr. Nitin Kumar plays a crucial role in supervising the operations of Treasury, Finance, Accounts and Audit function for the organization. Mr. Kansal has been part of the Max Group for the past 7 years where he has held many senior management positions.

He has a professional experience of more than 17 years in Finance, Treasury, Reporting, Accounting Compliance and Commercial functions with large and reputed organizations in the Hospitality and Real Estate sectors. Prior to joining Max, he was working at Emaar MGF Land Limited as Project Controller.

He is an associate member of Institute of Chartered Accountant of India

Rohit has over 17 years of experience across a variety of disciplines from engineering, banking , entrepreneurship & consulting.

Prior to joining MVIL Rohit was a Senior Principal in the management consulting firm, Hay Group. Whilst at Hay Group he was involved in organizational transformation & Strategy Execution for his clients across all stages of their organizational evolution while executing responsibilities of client relationship management, project management, and active business development.

He has deep expertise in the area of leadership development, organisational transformation and behavioural finance. He has served clients across industry sectors in his consulting and entrepreneurial career. Sectors including Industrial goods, consumer goods, consumer electronics. BFS, IT, Fashion, Healthcare, & Media.

In addition to organizational transformation & Strategy projects at Hay Group, Rohit also supported the corporate governance study with Economic Times on “Indias best boards” and worked in an area of Board Consulting for a consumer goods client. He was also a coach to various C suite leaders and advised on succession and mentoring in family businesses. He played the role of a mentor to starts ups selected within Indian’s Next 100 initiative to mentor 100 start ups pro bono.

He has contributed to Economic times & Entrepreneur Magazine on topics like entrepreneurship, diversity on Indian boards and mentoring the next generation in the family business.Rohit has served as an independent advisor on the boards of clients in Fashion, IT, Hospitality & Non-Profit sectors.

Rohit holds an MBA finance from MDI, Gurgaon and is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering.
Prior to his career at Hay Group, Rohit was a successful entrepreneur in the leadership development space. Early in his career, Rohit worked as a banker at Citigroup across its various retail businesses. An avid reader Rohit has interests in golf, swimming and motorcycle touring

Mr. Gopalakrishnan Ramachandran

Head – Legal & Company Secretary

Gopalakrishnan Ramachandran brings more than 11 years of experience in his role as Head – Legal & Company Secretary at Max Ventures and Industries. With extensive legal experience ranging from heading the legal team of a diversified Dutch multinational to working with law firms and independent counsels, he is well versed with the legal climate and challenges in the life science, telecom and technology sector in South Asia.

Gopal was last employed with a Dutch life science and material science company – DSM India as General Counsel and Company Secretary, heading their legal team for South Asia (India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh) and Middle East region. Prior to that, he worked with Fox Mandal Little as an Associate. Before moving on to Fox Mandal Little, he worked with a firm of Company Secretaries – M/s. Chetan Gupta & Associates. Gopal began his career as a litigation lawyer at the Chambers of Mr. Amit Anand Tiwari (Supreme Court advocate).

He is a qualified Company Secretary and has also completed an LLB from Delhi University after earning a B.Com. (Honors) degree from Delhi University. Gopal belongs to Delhi and enjoys travelling and meeting people.
